With no clear end in sight during the UK lockdown, Neshomo got creative in entertaining and educating, with a fresh dose of baking together for the 'social and sanity'!

A much needed sprinkling of calm and relaxation amidst ingredients that were prepared and dropped off onto doorsteps, Chef Debra Kay took the lead: baking tins were taken out and an evening was spent together in humour and company, nourishing body and mind.

For many, it was increasingly isolating and lonely during the coronavirus pandemic. At the close of this difficult year, Neshomo ran a series of focused, interactive art sessions with Artist Chava Erlanger.

Promoting mental calmness at this challenging time by providing a relaxing outlet in a safe setting, attendees were brought together using artistic self-expression as a means of improving mental health and well-being.

The sessions were greatly enjoyed, infusing individuals with a sense of unity and community and leaving them with more than a spark of hope going forward. Many participants went on to join further similar sessions, provided by Neshomo or other organisations.

Run by the talented and published author, Debbie Guttentag, this engaging and dynamic three-part workshop was much loved by Neshomo members, and others.

More than just a creative writing course, the thought-provoking sessions helped attendees explore their love of writing and find voice for difficult emotions, leaving them empowered with skills, confidence and the tools to forge ahead on their individual creative writing journeys.
