Befriending Service
Have you been experiencing mental health difficulties for some time now?
Do you find these difficulties are impacting on your ability to get on with day-to-day tasks?
Could you do with more emotional support?
Befriending is about connecting with people and building relationships. It can help reduce feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression, and improve overall sense of wellbeing. When we make connections with people, it helps us to feel less alone and more connected to our communities.
Would you like a befriender?
You would meet up together once a week at a set time. How you use this time would be tailored to meet your particular needs.
A befriender can come to visit you in your home. You could also go out for a walk or do errands that you may find challenging to do alone, or take part in an activity.
Our befrienders are carefully recruited, DBS checked, trained and supervised.
This is a strictly confidential service.
Our befriending service can help you start new hobbies and learn new skills, supporting you to better cope with life’s challenges; learning to trust in yourself and others, and gain confidence in your abilities.
