Social Prescribing
Neshomo uses a client led model of bespoke social prescribing.
Clients, with the support of their befriender or support worker, try to identify an activity they are willing to try
Clients are facilitated and encouraged to engage in these activities in order to foster emotional and physical wellness.
Activities cover a wide range, and are done in groups or individually depending on the needs and interests of the clients.
We have facilitated clients to do the following:-
Hobbies/Interests
Art, yoga, music, sports, nature walks, shopping, swimming, coffee shop visits, make-up lessons, visits to garden centres.
Life Skills
Making schedules, paperwork, budgeting, banking, planning meals, shopping, cooking, housework, travelling by public transport.
The activities are designed to help clients build relationships, practice new skills and interests, and socialise in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
We are proud to be making a positive difference in the lives of our clients, and we encourage anyone struggling with mental health issues to reach out to us.
We believe that no one should have to go through difficult times alone, and we are dedicated to providing the care and compassion needed to help our clients on their journey to recovery.
We have developed a list of activities and providers (who are DBS checked) which our befrienders can access for their clients
See here for events we have done.
