COVID 19 Support
A Manchester community member, mother to several children, reached out to Neshomo and shared a poem she wrote. We feel it’s an inspiring look at the struggles of lockdown.
WHEN covid-19 invades and the world's rapidly changing. . .
I remember that I'm resilient and constantly learning.
WHEN I sink into despair, "can't stay indoors any longer". . .
I acknowledge that through it, I'm becoming stronger and stronger.
WHEN I feel "this quarantine is too tough! That's it!". . .
I remember I'm a fighter and I'm not gonna quit.
WHEN the news is black as night. . . I will be creative and make light.
WHEN the children are anxious and unsure. . .
I will provide loving explanations to keep them secure.
WHEN I reflect on how I'd never believe this could be. . .
I'm amazed at the growth and transformation in me.
Covid-19 Telephone Befriending Service
Neshomo would like to support the community during this very challenging and stress inducing time.
We are offering telephone befriending support for people who are feeling more isolated or more anxious / low during this period.
Once a week you would make an arrangement to speak on the phone, have a chat, perhaps read something together, discuss a shared interest… etc. This is a confidential service and Neshomo will provide training and supervision for all befrienders. All our befrienders will be carefully vetted.
If you are interested in becoming a telephone volunteer befriender during Covid-19 APPLY HERE or
CONTACT US to discuss further.
If you are feeling more isolated and in need of emotional support during this period and would appreciate having a volunteer befriender telephone you once a week please CONTACT US.
