Neshomo MH Training Event 1st February 2026

The Neshomo Mental Health Training Event held at the Stenecourt New Hall took place Sunday evening TuBishvat.
Neshomo are a unique organisation offering a volunteer befriending service for the Greater Manchester Jewish community, where once a week a befriender will visit adults struggling with long term mental health at their home for an hour to care and support, through shared activities. Inuagurated in 2015, Neshomo provide complete support for the individual and their family in order to make it possible for those that require support to be cared for within the community.
The immersive evening held with a live link up with Rabbi Jonathon Dove and the Training offered by Project Lily was attended by over 70 people from across the Manchester kehilla and included a two part CPD Certified Mental Health Training with an Introduction to mental health followed by practical advice on how to help stumblers, a live Mindfulness Exercise, TuBishvat Refreshments and a Raffle with prizes picked by Dr David Marshall the chair of Neshomo.
The audience were treated to a couragous lived experience from a Neshomo client as well as an inspiring message from a befriender.
The event was hosted by Mr Yitz Strom the Clinical Director of Neshomo, and funded by VSNW, Live Well and the Inclusion and Wellbeing Partnership Fund.
